The Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees and the thINCubator has teamed up to create and deploy One World Artisans, an opportunity for refugee’s and newcomer entrepreneurs to get involved with the community, sell their artisanal goods and learn the fundamentals of operating a business by managing the One World Artisans cart.
Refugees and newcomers who’ve shown an interest in business and for those who have a talent for creating unique artisan goods inspired the idea of One World Artisans.
One World Artisans will have their newest cart with artisan goods available for sale at the Unspoken Conference on Thursday, October 27th from 8am to 12pm at the Radisson Hotel of Utica, NY. Hope to see you there at this fantastic, informative event!
The conference will be featuring a community training on Refugee Trauma: Culture and Care, which provides an overview of trauma-informed care, as well as general cultural competency targeting primary care providers, mental health providers, medical specialists, social workers, and other intersecting providers serving refugee populations. Registration and continental breakfast begins at 8am and there is a registration fee of $15.
