We help clients prepare the information needed to apply for funding, and connect them to sources of funding including loans, grants, and economic incentive programs.

There are many things to think of when starting a small business. Our certified business advisors walk clients through topics including legal business structures, government regulations, basic tax information, recordkeeping, and financing their business.

Creating a business plan is the first step in the entrepreneurial process. Our certified business advisors help clients navigate the process of creating a business plan. All SBDC clients also have access to EntreSkills, an interactive, web-based program that helps you refine and develop a business concept.

Our experts assist clients with the development of financial projections for their businesses. Financial projections are a necessary step in both business planning and funding applications.

From market research to advertising, social media strategies, and more, our certified business advisors assist clients with marketing their small businesses.

For a business owner, obtaining the right information is as important as finding the right location, or getting the best price. The New York SBDC operates a full-time library called the Research Network.  The Research Network provides free services to New York SBDC clients.

Our certified business advisors assist clients with strategic planning to achieve their business goals and objectives. Establishing short- and long-term goals as well as staying attuned to ever-changing customer and industry trends is essential for the growth and resiliency of a business.

The New York SBDC Procurement Assistance Center, located at the Mohawk Valley SBDC, provides specialized assistance for small- and medium-sized firms interested in supplying goods and services to federal, state, and local government agencies. SBDC clients have access to BidLinx, an automated service that monitors more than three thousand government bid source sites daily to identify bid opportunities appropriate for the business.

Our government contracting coordinator provides the expert guidance necessary to help clients understand how to apply for state and federal small business certifications and programs designed specifically to foster their growth.

If you’re looking to learn about the best digital tools or website platforms to utilize for your business, we can provide a roadmap and recommendations for products and platforms for various small businesses.
