Central NY has some amazing talent. I’ve met people in the past 3 weeks who are working on high tech business ideas such as software platforms, UAVs (drones), apps, and computer modeling, as well as entrepreneurs looking to capitalize on brick and mortar retail, local services and their own lifestyle products.
But I’ve also noticed that most of them don’t know each other. This is something that’s going to be at the core mission of what we’re building at the thINCubator – connecting people to share their talents, expertise, successes, mistakes and insights.
We’re going to be developing some awesome recurring events at our space and beyond to try to foster those creative collisions. Right now we’re currently working with some folks who are heading up teams at the Air Force Research Laboratory on an event series that’s designed to foster creative collisions between Makers, Entrepreneurs, Students, Hackers, and Creatives in our region. We’re calling it the MESH Kit.
Our first event will be on June 9th at the thINCubator from 4-6pm. We’re looking for people who have an idea for a startup, who are building their own projects, or who might want to try their hand at working on commercializing existing intellectual property. Let’s get into a room and get to know each other, share what we’re working on, and talk about opportunities that exist to collaborate. This unique networking event will feature the culinary and experience design of Roux – a CNY Dining Pop-up Startup.
Interested? If you’re someone who is creative or identifies as a Maker, Entrepreneur, Student or a Hacker, we’d love to meet you. RSVP here for this free event (space is extremely limited).
Hope to see you on June 9th!
