The thINCubator has hired Ryan Miller as its full-time Director to help develop business ideas from both student and community teams throughout the Mohawk Valley, and to help foster a culture of entrepreneurship. He will be the primary resource for connecting entrepreneurs with a diverse network of mentors, community members, resources, and programming that will accelerate their business development as well as increase their likelihood of success.
“We want our community to be more aware of the resources and connections that the thINCubator can provide, and make it the epicenter of creative connections in the Mohawk Valley,” said Miller. “I’m looking forward to working together with our educational institutions and community partners to provide a creative environment for entrepreneurs, and to show that we can build innovative companies right here in upstate New York.”
Miller will work in conjunction with John Liddy, Executive Director of the thINCubator and Frank DuRoss, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement at Mohawk Valley Community College to develop programs and events for both students and the community at large.
“We are excited to have a passionate local innovator representing us in the Mohawk Valley. When Frank DuRoss and I discussed ideal candidates, Ryan\’s name was at the top of the list. We are excited to have him on board,” said Liddy.
Miller was recently the Interactive Director at Romanelli Communications, where he helped clients throughout the northeast tell stories and reach customers through a variety of digital channels and social media. He is also one of the organizers of TEDxUtica and has created various community projects throughout our area such as the Utica Firefly Storytelling project and YouticaEATS.
The thINCubator is currently accepting student and community applicants for its summer cohort beginning June 12th which gives aspiring entrepreneurs the resources to make their visions a reality.
