Hops, Barley, Apples & Laws: Lawyering Basics for Craft Beverage Businesses
April 9, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
The Craft Beverage Industry is an integral part of New York’s local food and drink markets. Thanks in part to the Craft New York Act of 2014 and a number of State initiatives to support such enterprises, microbreweries, wineries, distilleries and cideries are springing up across the state. In an effort to support the needs of such businesses, the Rural Law Initiative of the Government Law Center at Albany Law School is sponsoring a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program on counseling craft beverage businesses operating in NY State.
The program will cover:
. New York State Liquor Authority laws
. Labeling and Packaging laws
. Intellectual Property laws
. Legal obstacles craft beverage business owners face
This CLE will train lawyers to be stronger advisors for the growing Craft Beverage Industry of New York State, and also educate business owners on the laws they need to be aware of.
After the programming, join us for an afternoon of local craft beverage tastings and socializing.
